About
Who is lacing up behind this site
A small, independent team of runners who prefer a calm conversation to a hard sell.
Our story
Beaconshocliphopper began with a simple frustration. Choosing running shoes felt harder than running. Reviews shouted, rankings changed weekly, and beginners were left wondering whether they needed a plate, a rocker or a miracle.
So we started writing the guides we wished we had: short, honest, and organised like a training plan. We start with how a shoe feels under your stride, and we go from there.
How we work
We explain categories before models, so you learn what to look for. We name real shoes as starting points, not verdicts. We do not sell shoes, and we are not affiliated with any brand. If we are unsure of something, we say so.
Our advice is general. We are not medical professionals, and if something hurts, a physiotherapist or podiatrist is the right person to ask.

What we believe
Comfort first
The best shoe is the one you forget you are wearing.
Easy is the goal
Most miles should feel calm. Your shoes should help with that.
Plain English
No jargon without a explanation, no hype without a reason.
Independence
We sell nothing, so we can say what we think.
